We are a few people in Jaipur who would like to show you around.
IndiCulture arranges small-group cultural experiences in Jaipur and unhurried journeys across Rajasthan. Everything we offer is hosted by someone who lives here — a chef, a shopkeeper, a naturalist, a family with a spare room — and our job is mostly to introduce you properly and then get out of the way.
A city is easier to love when someone introduces you to it.
Jaipur gives a great deal to anyone who walks it alone. It gives more when the person beside you knows which door to knock on, what the shopkeeper just said, and why the kachori queue is worth standing in.
That is the whole idea. Not access to places you could not otherwise reach, but the company of someone for whom none of it is unusual — someone you can ask the small questions, the ones that are too minor for a guidebook and too interesting to let go.
Four things we will not bend on.
We sit down with people first
Nobody hosts for us until we have been to their home or their workshop, spent time there, and seen how they work on an ordinary day. It is slow, and it is the only part of this we are unwilling to speed up.
We agree the money before you book
Every host knows what they will earn before a booking is confirmed, and it is the largest share of what you pay. You can ask us what that share is for any experience and we will tell you.
We keep groups small
Rarely more than six of you. A kitchen or a workshop can only hold so many people before it stops being a visit and starts being a performance.
We stay reachable
Someone from IndiCulture is reachable by phone for the whole time you are with us, and it is the same person who arranged your trip rather than a call centre.
Jaipur first, then outward.
Our experiences all happen in and around Jaipur, because that is where we live and where we know people well enough to introduce them. The journeys travel further — into fort country, the desert, and the wildlife parks — always with a host who belongs to the route rather than a guide flown in for the week.
We are based in Jaipur, and the people who arrange your trip are the same people who answer the phone while you are on it.

We are welcoming our first travellers this season, so there are no reviews here yet, and we would rather leave the space empty than fill it with someone else's. What we can tell you is who you will be with, what it costs, and exactly how a day unfolds. The rest, we hope, you will tell us.

Our family homestay in Jaipur is still being made ready. Until it is, every experience runs perfectly well without it.

Before anything is confirmed we tell you who is hosting you, what they do, and how long they have been doing it. Nobody arrives to a stranger.
The four of us are introduced on the homepage. Portraits and longer profiles are being put together with each host rather than written about them, so they will arrive a little later and in their own words.
